Nursing home (NH) and SLF cases are classified based on the amount of countable income and/or excess nonexempt resources that are available to apply towards the cost of care.
To determine if an NH or SLF customer is regular or spenddown:
- determine the total amount of countable income and/or excess nonexempt resources, and
compare that amount to the AABD Medical standard for one person.
