TANF clients may be eligible for additional payment(s). These additional payments are called special payments.

The following items are special payments:

  • Correction of an underpayment of cash benefits.
  • Change in mailing date - When a change in mailing date of the regular roll benefits creates a period of unmet need, a special payment is issued.

A written request is not needed to issue payments to correct underpayments or for unmet needs from a change in mailing date.
