Sponsor of noncitizen policy does not apply to Medical. If a TANF or AABD Cash case is ineligible for benefits due to sponsor of noncitizen policy, change the application to Medical if at intake, or SWAP to Medical for active cases. If a GA case is
ineligible for benefits due to sponsor of noncitizen policy, if at intake, deny assistance and if active, cancel the case.
Ineligibility for cash benefits due to sponsor policy occurs if:
- the sponsor's income liability is enough to meet the noncitizen's needs;
- the sponsor's asset liability is greater than the noncitizen's asset limit; or
- the client fails to cooperate in verifying the sponsor's income or assets.
