The following transfers are allowable and do not affect eligibility:

  • Exempt assets, but any monies received from the transfer would affect eligibility.
  • Assets that are sold or traded at or near fair market value.
  • Assets that are transferred between members of the same SNAP unit, including transfers with ineligible unit members (see PM 04-05-07).
  • Assets that are transferred for reasons other than to qualify for SNAP benefits.
