When figuring the total amount of assets to use, include the assets of:

  • all persons required to be in the case due to filing unit policy (see PM 04-01-02), and
  • any other persons included in the case.

Do not use the assets of:

  • a child who is an ineligible noncitizen, or
  • anyone who is excluded by exception to the Cash Filing Unit (see PM 04-01-02-a).
