The date the authorization for repayment is signed will be treated by SSA as the date of SSI application if the client applies for SSI within 60 days of signing the authorization.
Require a new authorization to be signed each time a new application for SSI is filed. Do not required a new authorization when a client files an appeal of the denial of an SSI application for which an authorization is on file.
