If past due premiums are received and posted by the end of the effective month of a cancellation that was due to non-payment of premiums, benefits may be restored without requiring a new application. Do not establish a new eligibility period unless a renewal is being processed at the same time.
Example: The Jones family did not pay their premium for June and July. Their case will not be due for a renewal until December. The case is centrally canceled effective for August. On August 20th, payment for June, July and August is posted. Remove Item 80 code 178 NPYMT and restore benefits on the Premium case effective August using TA 12/ TAR 98. Do not establish a new eligibility period.
