WAG 06-08-06-d

If a person who receives All Kids Rebate loses their health insurance due to nonpayment of premium or voluntary cancellation of the policy, cancel the All Kids Rebate case and set up a All Kids Share or All Kids Premium case, unless:

  • the family is going to be covered within 90 days by another insurance plan that covers inpatient hospitalization and physician services, or

NOTE: Payments are suspended in the Healthcare and Family Services Accounting System (PAAS) for 90 days. If HFS does not receive a Rebate form for the new insurance within 90 days, the case is canceled.

  • the family does not want to receive All Kids Share or All Kids Premium, or
  • the family has a Rebate overpayment.

When changing a case from All Kids Rebate to All Kids Share or All Kids Premium, do not review current income unless the family requests a change in status. The original 12-month eligibility period remains the same.

Rebate payments made to the policyholder for a month(s) after the insurance was canceled are overpayments.

If the family did not notify HFS or DHS within 10 days of the day insurance ended, all Rebate payments made to the policyholder after the month the insurance ended are overpayments.
