Do not increase SNAP benefits when TANF cash benefits decrease because a client failed to comply with a TANF program requirement. This may happen when there is:
- a child support sanction;
- an activity sanction;
- a sanction due to failure to cooperate with the school attendance initiative; or
- noncooperation with TANF cash REDE requirements.
Continue to budget the same amount of income by coding the amount of the cash benefit reduction as a noncompliance amount.
The penalty for failure to comply with a cash program requirement ends when the sanction ends or when the case is canceled or SWAPped to a 94 or 96 case, whichever is earlier.
