TANF CANCELLATION /SWAP TYPE ACTION REASONS ELIGIBLE FOR TRANSITIONAL FOOD STAMPS

Transitional Food Stamps (TFS) benefits are issued when a TANF Cash case is canceled or SWAPped with one of the following Type Action Reasons (TARs).

TA 22/TAR:

  • 63 Ineligible for TANF due to 60-month lifetime limit.
  • 70 Caretaker relative in an adult only case is ineligible.
  • 76 No eligible child.
  • 91 Client requested cancellation.
  • 08 Case closed due to earnings from a person not included in the case.
  • 14 Case closed due to earnings of a person included in the case.
  • 21 Case ineligible due to receipt of child support.
  • 58 Employed unit member requests cancellation.
  • 84 Client requests cancellation due to earnings from a person not included in the case.

TA 28/TAR:

  • 76 No eligible child in case.
  • 63 Ineligible for TANF due to 60-month lifetime limit.

TA 81 & TA 82/TAR:

  • 05 Income more than TANF level.
  • 11 Contribution from someone living in the home.
  • 12 Contribution from someone outside the home.
  • 17 Parent liability.
  • 22 Receipt of voluntary contributions.
  • 23 Sponsor's liability.
  • 24 Receipt of child support payment.
  • 31 SSA benefit level. 32 FED govt benefits.
  • 33 State/local govt benefits.
  • 34 New or increased benefits from non-governmental program.
  • 35 Lump sum payment.
  • 41 Excess assets.
  • 43 Stepparent liability.
  • 53 Reduced needs and income is greater than TANF payment level.
