HFS logoDHS logo

12/27/12

Summary:

This provides notice of the increase in the Family Maintenance Needs Allowance (FMNA).  The FMNA is for persons in nursing homes (NH) or supportive living facilities (SLF) and persons applying for or receiving services through the Department on Aging (DoA) Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) waiver.

Effective 01/01/13, the Family Maintenance Needs Allowance (FMNA) increases from $1,839 to $1,891.25. This new standardized amount used to determine the FMNA is based on the increase in the Federal Poverty Level (FPL).

For active cases, use the new standard to recalculate the FMNA no later than the next scheduled redetermination (REDE).
